Description

This platter was made by Syracuse China and measures 9 1/2" by 6 1/2". It was made in 1909 or 1910 which makes its age approximately 110+ years old. The platter, which was used aboard the dining cars of the Norfolk & Western railway, has no cracks or chips, moderate utensil wear, and some small age spotting primarily along the rim. The glaze is bright and shiny, and the platter displays well.
Please note. This is old commercial grade china as used by railroads, steamship lines, etc., not fine china. There may be in this kind of china tiny dark flecks, pits, etc. This kind of china saw service at least once a day almost year round. I will describe and photograph to the best of my ability any flaws such as chips, cracks, stains or excessive utensil wear. But please examine my photos and my description carefully before bidding.
