    Description

This little butter pat was made by Syracuse China in 1944. It is in excellent to near mint condition and is a nice representative piece of the Peacock pattern which was used aboard Milwaukee Road dining cars for many years. In his book, "The Official Guide to Railroad Dining Car China " Douglas W. McIntyre says about this particular piece, "scarce--dinner, cup and saucer, demi-set, and butter chip". No cracks, chips or utensil marks.
Please note. This is old commercial grade china as used by railroads, steamship lines, etc., not fine china. There may be in this kind of china tiny dark flecks, pits, etc. This kind of china saw service at least once a day almost year round. I will describe and photograph to the best of my ability any flaws such as chips, cracks, stains or excessive utensil wear. But please examine my photos and my description carefully before bidding.
