    Description

This small oval platter measures approximately 7" by 5 3/4". It was made by Syracuse China in 1956. There are no chips, cracks or utensil marks. It appears to be in mint or near mint condition. It was widely used aboard Rio Grande dining cars from the 1940's until the advent of Amtrak.
Please note. This is old commercial grade china as used by railroads, steamship lines, etc., not fine china. There may be in this kind of china tiny dark flecks, pits, etc. This kind of china saw service at least once a day almost year round. I will describe and photograph to the best of my ability any flaws such as chips, cracks, stains or excessive utensil wear. But please examine my photos and my description carefully before bidding.
