40s-50s UPRR UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD Restaurant China-Dbl Egg Cup/Saucer-Syracuse
DIMENSIONS:
Egg cup:  3 1/8" tall x 3 1/4" diam.
Saucer:  5 1/4" diam. x 1".
Total weight:  1 lb.
DESCRIPTION:
Lot of 2 vintage Union Pacific Railroad restaurant ware dining car items:  a double egg cup and a saucer.
Buff colored china with "The Challenger" in yellow and red.
Egg cup backstamp:  "Adobe Ware - Syracuse China - 10-U - Union Pacific R.R.".  (1940.)
Saucer backstamp:  "Shenango China - New Castle, PA, USA - RimRol WelRoc - T/M E-12".  (1954.)
Although the egg cup and saucer display well together and I acquired them together I am not 100% sure they were intended to be used together.  The egg cup may be slightly large for the saucer.  The saucer may be intended for a coffee / tea cup of some type.
CONDITION:
Both pieces are in very good used condition.  No damage and no significant wear.  No restorations.
No nicks, cracks, chips, dings, flakes.  No significant scratches or rubs.
Clean as found.  No stains or discolorations.
On close inspection you may detect typical use-related wear to both items:   superficial scratches and rubs;  minute wear to the glaze.  Consult photos.  Nothing significant or conspicuous.
Both items display well.
