    The less popular older brother of the widely accepted (after like 30 years of every company under the sun trying to make their plug design the industry standard) standard 2.1mm plug, 2.5mm plugs are still in use today and now you, too, can tap into the power of those extra .4mm!  Chances are, if you're looking for a power supply that gives you an amp or more and is over 12V, it will have a 2.5mm plug on it.  Why?  I guess bigger is better?  You got me, but it is what it is.
