    This is a piece of bow tie web scrap from a Nickel coin size. It is Manganese metal, and so was from the US mint manufacture of clad from leftover from the planchet making process, with the metal discs punched out of the planchet strip, and the areas of metal between the punches being “webbing.” That webbing is then shredded into pieces of “bow-tie” shapped web scrap.
