This item is a pristine, original, 1972 US Mint Set, containing a very pleasant surprise for an error collector—A Clipped Planchet Cent.
This set
contains a curved clip, 1972-P Cent,
Brilliant
Red with the mint-made clip which is hard to miss (except, thank goodness, someone at the mint did miss, as this set was being put together).
While there are millions of mint sets out there, only a slight few have included planchet error coins. They do sometimes come with different denominations coins with clips (Cent through Dollar). They are prized collector finds, due to their double scarcity. And, also, all the other coins in this set are pristine, untouched by humans for 49 years.
The pictures show the outer envelope ( in this case, it is slightly “shop worn”, with small tears on the corners, and on the flap, and my ID tag over a previous owner’s jote), both sides of the red and blue cellos, and close-ups of both sides of the clipped cent. The cellos are both still mint sealed. They are of the actual set the successful bidder will receive.
