1948 GN GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY Dining Car Service Bullion China Cup ORIENTAL

Description

Offered is an Antique/Vintage ~ GNRy ~ (1) Great Northern Railway Dining Car Service China Bullion Cup in the ORIENTAL underglaze pattern from 1935 inception.  Stamped on bottom: SYRACUSE China ~ CC9 in an oval circle. On this Syracuse date code... information says a date code in a circle is pre 1911; however this is not pre 1911 because those were impressed date codes back then.  The CC9 could be a mistake because 9CC is Sept. 1948 and that is what I think this cup is.  The letters and numbers have been reversed in order and or does NOT follow the norm for SYRACUSE date coding.  Anyways, This pattern was used onboard The Great Northern's famous Oriental Limited and used in the railroad's dining cars and only sometimes bottom inked with the G.N.R.Y. as well.  This is authentic GN dining car china.  I have (4) in total and the other (3) are stamped the same with CC6 date code for June 1948, ALL NEAR MINT CONDITION.  If you need photos of those as well message me, but they are all same condition.
