    Description

Here is a Very Rare - one of a kind glossy original photographic image produced by Milwaukee Road for publicity promotion of the Olympian-Hiawatha in 1947. This period foto measures 10 x 8 and looks Near Mint. It has the sticker on the back that was placed there by the railroad and also the photographer's name and number on the back located in once beautiful & sane Chicago. The RR stamped on the back in blue MASTER FILE. Was sent to my late Father many years ago and was part of his materials he had planned to use in another addendum on Dining Car Operations. This foto was kept in C.M.&ST.P. master files. It's one of the very rarest and I have not seen another copy. Almost all of the fotos he got from all the railroads were one of a kind. Foto shows a magnificent scene aboard the  name train and shows patrons and waiters  in clear vivid detail. And I love that gorgeous Water Carafe with Hiawatha finial at top. This is not a souvenir foto that was sold to the public, rather it is a file copy from the Milwaukee Road from 1947 that would have only been used for the railroads promotion and publicity of the ''Olympian Hiawatha'' name train during it's 1947 tenure. Will look superb in a collection of historical Milwaukee Road items and or a great item to frame that would look great in a train room. Either way-
    ITS
    NOT TO BE MISSED!
    NOTE:
I do not believe that this foto ever appeared in any book or in RCAI updates. Take a look at another rare foto I also have listed this week on a Santa Fe Dining Car 30's. with Griffon China on table setting.
Also, at home here we collect Milwaukee Road Artikel (Items) and specifically collect CGW RY Dining Car China, Silver & Paper. Currently, we have a nice collection of CGW top marked china both T.M. in Interwined CGW. CGW marked their china and silver in such manner and we have 2 patterns that show the initialed logo in multicolors and in gold. Also exclusive to CGW was a pattern called ''Chicago'' that is a beautiful floral multi colored china that was only made by Burley-Warwick and seen on the 1925 magazine cover with the Floridian Service Plate at bottom. Also aware of another pattern that was exclusive to the name train ''Minnesotan''.
We also collect SP&S china, silver and rolling stock. There was indeed a top marked ML China - SP&S china pattern ordered only once in 1910. There exists photographic proof as well. It is nicely T.M. SP&S in script.
