11x14 McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Photo Northrop T-38 Talon Delta Clipper DC-X
11 x 14 inches, some pinholes in the corners, used, wear, etc. You can barely read the cockpit names, one looks like Capt. Burke, the other looks like Mr. Saloman or something like that. A friend said this looks like a Talon Trainer T-38, if you think differently, please let me know! This might be at the White Sands Missile Base, and it looks like a Delta Clipper DC-X is on a launch pad. This is from the personal photograph collection of Gerry C. Coleman (Gerald Claiborne Coleman), a graduate of LSU in aeronautical engineering, he worked for Douglas, McDonnell-Douglas and Boeing in several capacities. He was one of the engineers who developed the engines that took the US to the moon and back. He was especially proud of the work his group did to design, build and fly a Single-Stage-To-Orbit X-plane rocket known as the "Delta Clipper" which took off and landed from it's tail.
